Xavier Cason blocks the shot of a Derby player at the McPherson High School Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament on Friday, January 19.

The basketball team traveled to McPherson to compete in the McPherson High School Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament.

The team played Lawrence Free State in the first round, losing 67-51. Then would go on to play Derby High School, losing 73-68.

The Blue Jays picked up there first win in the final round of the tournament. They defeated Blue Valley West, winning in overtime 56-55.

The Blue Jays will take on Topeka High Friday, January 26th at home.
