Player Profile: Softball Player Ali Vasquez

  1. How long have you been playing softball?

“I’ve been playing for 3 years, and I’m a junior now.”

 

  1. How long have you been on varsity?

“I was moved up to varsity last year, and I’m on varsity this year.”

 

  1. What is your favorite part of playing softball?

“My favorite part of playing softball is the team, you meet a lot of great people.”

 

  1. What is the best memory you’ve had playing softball?

“Recently one of my best memories was when Iyonna was in the outfield, and she was she was hustling really hard to get the ball. She fell over the fence, then she rolled twice before she actually got up.”

 

  1. What are some of the things that the team is working on to improve?

“The team is really working on coming together and using a lot of teamwork and communication. Last year we had 9 seniors on varsity, and that was the entire time. We definitely have a lot of new faces on varsity and we have been coming together really well.”

 

  1. What are some of the goals that you have for this season?

“One of my goals is to win some games.”

 

  1. Who/what motivates you to continue playing softball?

“My motivation is that I just like the game and the girls are pretty cool too. It is really good having returners come back. Most of the time we have players who move a lot, since we live by a military base, so it is good to have girls come back.”

 

  1. Do you plan to go to college for softball?

“I might go to college for softball, we will see.”

 

  1. How do you expect this softball season to go?

“I have high hopes for this season. I hope to win some regionals, and win some leagues.”

 

  1. What is your biggest challenge as a team this year?

“Our biggest challenge is playing positions we have never played before, and really having to step up and think about the team more than ourselves. We have to do what is best for the team.”
