The Junction City Blue Jays Basketball (4-8) will be taking on the Topeka High Trojans (8-4) on Friday, January 26th, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Shenk Gym.

The Blue Jays are coming off a win against Blue Valley West with a score of 56-55. The Blue Jays fared well in the three-day McPherson tournament, going 1-2 in the tournament. Both of the losses could’ve gone either way as they came down to the wire.

“I think the hardest part about winning is finding out how to win and so for us it’s one of those things that I think we took a huge step this weekend, we played very well for a half against Free State, we put it all together against Derby but we just had too many turnovers, and then we put it together on the final day and got a win,“ head coach Nick Perez said.

The Topeka Trojans are currently on a three-game win streak as well as bringing in a record of 3-1 in road games this year. Larry White (#1) will be a player to watch on the Trojans as he is an athletic player who gets into the paint and finishes with vicious dunks.

“We are gonna have to help, Deandre does a great job against everybody’s best player so we are gonna put Deandre on him but we are also going have to help because he is a very good player,“ coach Perez said.
