The Beginning of Nav

The Beginning of Nav

Jonathan Hunter, Music Review Writer

From underground to pushing towards mainstream, NAV is really stepping up the game and making 2017 a big stepping-stone for him. Thanks to collaborations with Travis Scott, The Weeknd, and signing to the record label, XO, his name is something to watch out for in the future.

With releasing his self-titled album releasing February 24, only one feature, and all tracks executively produced by him, and another project with producer Metro Boomin titled “Perfect Timing”, it’s going to be really hard to stay asleep on NAV.

With a successful mixtape release on the 24th, there were 7 new songs that were new, all of them that were different. Two of the most played as of now, “Myself” and “NAV”, talked about how bad his life was and how alone he was, to how his producer Amir “Cash” Esmailian, met him and brought him up. Some other good recommendations are “Up” which was produced by Metro Boomin and NAV, and “Interlude”. He had inspiration from The Weeknd in his Interlude because of all the similarities in the way this track to other Weeknd tracks. Overall, I would rate it an 8/10 because some songs he would sound like he would repeat the same things but differently.
